Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Webster, TX seeks a Phlebotomist II to collect specimens according to established procedures. The role operates Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with rotational weekend coverage, and offers a pay range starting at $20.80 per hour plus potential bonus opportunities.

The position requires three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data as required.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, and email/phone communication.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs timely (maintenance logs, temperature logs).
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
