Job summary

Pride-Health is seeking a skilled phlebotomist for local contract work in Cape Coral, FL. Day shift Mon-Fri 6am-3pm and Sat 6am-12:30pm, 6-month+ contract, pay range $22.79-$24.41 hourly.

Experience with blood draws, labeling, centrifugation, and specimen handling is required. Responsibilities include explaining venipuncture to patients, verifying orders, packaging specimens for transport, and storing specimens at proper temperatures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge and decontaminate as required.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Verify orders, match requisitions to tubes, label, centrifuge, split and freeze as required.
• Check test requisitions against labels to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures.

Job Details

Schedule: Day Shift Monday thru Friday 6am-3pm and Saturday 6am-12:30pm.

Location: Cape Coral FL 33990

Job Type: local contract

Contract Length: 6 Months+

Pay Range: $22.79-24.41 hourly

Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at the required temperature and places them.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 yr. of phlebotomy experience is required.
