Job summary

Pride-Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for a local 4+ month contract on Daniel Island, SC. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, recording maintenance data, and ensuring accurate patient information.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of phlebotomy experience. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM EST.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at the required temperature.

Schedule: Mon-Friday 8a-3p EST

Location: Daniel Island, SC 29492

Job Type: local contract

Contract Length: 4 Months+

Pay Range: $18.25 - $19.55 hourly

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at the required temperature and places them.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of phlebotomy experience is required.
