Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II in Sarasota, FL, Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range starts at $21.70 per hour.

The role involves collecting specimens, preparing samples for transport, and performing non-patient facing duties, with opportunities for annual performance bonuses. Requirements include at least three years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric and geriatric collections), data entry, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screening.
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Verify orders and enter data using lab systems and client tools.
• Navigate computer systems and enter billing information when required.
• Prepare specimens for transport: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, restock supplies, sanitize, file, answer phones, email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics/data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature records.
• Complete training courses timely.
