Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) interacts directly with patients, representing our company and providing essential health services.
- Draws high-quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing following established protocols.
- Builds trust with patients by explaining procedures and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- Exhibits leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy. Assignments may vary between doctor’s offices and patient service centers.
- Performs daily activities accurately under supervision, maintaining a safe and professional environment.
- Handles both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in accordance with procedures.
- Verifies patient demographic information and labels specimens in the presence of patients to ensure accuracy.
- Maintains proper records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image and demonstrates organizational commitment to patients, clients, and colleagues.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to policies, dress code, safety, and excellence principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with short notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
- Training locations may vary based on availability.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry skills.
