Job summary

Endeavor Health in Skokie, IL is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our fully integrated healthcare delivery system. This role focuses on a variety of phlebotomy procedures, specimen collection, and accurate documentation within our hospital laboratory environment.

Hours are varied (6am-2pm, 7am-3:30pm, 9:30am-5pm) with a 5-day work week and rotating holidays; CPR-BLS is required and ASCP certification is preferred. Competitive benefits and paid time off are included.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Certification: CPR-BLS certification for Healthcare Provider required from AHA; PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by Supervisor/Manager/Director.
• Order tests into Laboratory/Hospital systems and document lab receipt of specimens.
• Collect patient specimens appropriate for age and population served.
• Collect blood samples ensuring proper volume and correct tubes are used.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.71 - $28.58 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Phlebotomist II
• Location: Skokie Hospital
• Status: Full Time
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm, 7am-3:30pm, 9:30am-5pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do

• Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Supervisor/Manager/Director
• Responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens
• Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner which is appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served
• Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized

What you will need

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience
• Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the AHA required and PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
• Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills needed, reliable transportation to travel between sites required, strong customer service skills.
