Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Phlebotomist I - Per Diem to support patient service centers across Cook County, IL. This role offers per diem hours, with Monday-Friday days and variable shifts, and requires travel between sites.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, documenting lab receipts, and ensuring proper specimen handling. Education should be high school diploma or GED, CPR-BLS preferred, with strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification: CPR-BLS for Healthcare Provider required by AHA; PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
  • Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.

  • Order tests into Laboratory/Hospital systems and document receipt of specimens.

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position: Phlebotomist I - Per Diem

Location: Patient Service Centers; Cook County, IL Locations

Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem

Hours: Monday-Friday, days shifts with varied start times, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

Required Travel: Yes

What you will do
  • Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by the Supervisor/Manager/Director
  • Responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital computer systems and documenting Lab receipt of specimens
  • Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner which is appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served
  • Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized
What you will need
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Certification: CPR-BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the AHA and PBT (ASCP) certification preferred
  • Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills needed, reliable transportation to travel between sites required, strong customer service skills.
