Job description

Phlebotomist II – Salisbury, MD

Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with rotational weekends.

Pay Range

17.71–26.56 / hour. Salary offers based on skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams, etc.).
  • Administer oral solutions according to established training.
  • Research and verify test/client information using laboratory technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
  • Navigate computer systems and accurately enter data.
  • Obtain identification, enter billing information, and collect payments per corporate policies.
  • Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required).
  • Perform non‑patient‑facing duties (inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, using email).
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature, etc.) in a timely manner.
  • Complete online and in‑person training courses on schedule.
Qualifications
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data‑entry experience.
  • Flexible and available for staffing needs (weekends, holidays, on‑call, overtime).
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (when applicable).
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
