Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our team in Clackamas, OR for a 3-month assignment. The role requires venipuncture experience in a fast-paced clinical setting, with strong emphasis on patient care and specimen integrity.

The candidate will perform venipuncture, collect and process specimens, verify patient details, and ensure safety and compliance with lab regulations. Schedule is 1st shift, 0730-1600, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital or high-volume lab.
  • Venipuncture proficiency with straight and butterfly needles.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens per procedures.
  • Verify patient information and match specimens with requisitions.
  • Explain collection procedures to patients professionally and courteously.
  • Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling, storage, and transportation.
  • Update patient information and document specimen collection accurately.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination as required.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations.
  • Answer phone calls and assist with laboratory inquiries.
  • Participate in departmental training and uphold quality standards.

Location: 9290 SouthEast Sunnybrook Road, Clackamas OR
Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: 1 st shift 0730-1600 M-F
Vaccines required:
Color vision is required
Hep B is optional, declination to be signed if candidate declines, MMR and Varicella titer to be run and candidate can either be vaccinated or decline.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital environment while maintaining exceptional patient care and specimen integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
  • Verify patient information and accurately match specimens with laboratory requisitions.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital or high-volume laboratory setting.
  • Overall 2-4 years of healthcare/phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Experience processing and handling laboratory specimens.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication and patient care skills.
  • Valid Phlebotomy Certification if required by state regulations.
