Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
- The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- The PSR II has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens safely and accurately.
- The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Assignments may include working in a doctor's office, patient service center, or as dictated by business needs.
- Under the supervision of the area manager, perform daily activities accurately and timely.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signatures post-venipuncture, to ensure proper labeling and identification.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients, clients, and colleagues.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to deliver error-free, quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to all policies, including dress code, safety, and excellence principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Training:
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Experience in customer service in retail or service environments preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
