Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• May require Louisiana License as Medical Lab Assistant by LSBME within one year of employment if performing waived or moderate complex testing duties.

Responsibilities

• Productivity: Maintains acceptable productivity with minimal errors and properly identifies patients.
• Collects samples and labels specimens per established protocol for sample quality.
• Demonstrates initiative to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances while promoting cooperation.
• Quality: Ensures high patient care standards in routine blood collection, bedside testing, and culture collection as needed.
• Follows policies to protect patient information and maintains confidentiality of records.
• Establishes cooperative relationships with patients, physicians, pathologists, staff, and other personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
