Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Trumbull, CT is seeking a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM, with rotational weekends. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, adherence to lab procedures, and professional patient service.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, with medical training preferred and phlebotomy certification preferred (certification required in CA, NV, WA). Prior phlebotomy experience is favored.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens per established procedures (drug screens, biometric screens, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions per training.
• Navigate lab systems to verify orders and enter data accurately.
• Identify patients and collect payments when required following policy.
• Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport).
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, sanitation, filing, phones, emails).
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete trainings timely.
