Job summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a Phlebotomist I to perform phlebotomy and other specimen collection procedures for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.

Responsibilities include processing, labeling, transporting specimens and entering data into the Laboratory Information System, while delivering patient care and maintaining safety. The role also handles basic clerical tasks such as answering phones and faxing lab reports.

Qualifications

• 3 months phlebotomy experience including data entry and specimen handling.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; neonatal/pediatric experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Process, label, transport specimens and input data into the Laboratory Information System.
• Answer phones and fax lab reports as needed.
