Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist I. Typical hours are Monday–Friday 8:30 AM–5:30 PM with rotational weekends. State phlebotomy license required; NHA licenses not accepted in CA.

Pay range $24.00–$25.70 per hour. Eligible for annual performance bonus opportunities. Qualifications include a high school diploma, preferred phlebotomy certification, and one year phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures. Includes drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm/verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing info; collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, procedures.
• Assist with compilation/submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and timing of maintenance logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
