Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies in Manhattan, KS seeks a Phlebotomist I to perform blood draws and specimen collection in a clinical lab setting.

This 3+ month assignment covers 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, at 1133 College Ave, Bldg E, Ste 250.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, labeling, processing samples, maintaining records, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
• Valid state phlebotomy certification, where required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect, label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
• Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy.
• Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients.
• Properly store and transport specimens while maintaining specimen integrity.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Follow OSHA, DEP, and department regulations and procedures.
• Attend required department training.
• Answer telephone calls and assist with laboratory result inquiries.
