Job summary

Responsibilities

• Positively identifies patients prior to collection.
• Collects blood specimens on inpatients and outpatients.
• Operates Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Labels specimen tubes correctly and maintains specimen integrity.
• Assists in clerical duties of the laboratory and with training of new staff.
• Generates and completes collection pending reports and communicates issues to the supervisor.
