Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Upland, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens and perform related duties in a fast‑paced clinical setting. The role requires state phlebotomy licensure and offers daytime hours Monday through Friday with weekend rotations.

A competitive hourly pay range and performance bonus potential are included. Responsibilities include specimen collection, data entry, order verification and adherence to departmental procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training preferred: medical assistant or paramedic training.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders by utilizing lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information; collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform all non‑patient facing duties, including inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and utilizing email as appropriate.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, such as maintenance logs and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in‑person training courses promptly.

Phlebotomist I - Upland, CA
Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with rotational weekends.

Require State Phlebotomy License. Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV.

Pay Range: $24.00 - $25.70 per hour. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.

Required Work Experience

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires effectively communicating in English.
