Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Bellingham, WA is seeking a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens, administer oral solutions, and verify orders using lab systems. The role requires English communication, and candidates with phlebotomy certification are preferred. Schedule is Monday–Friday 07:30–16:30 with rotational weekends.

Pay ranges from $21.80 to $24.00 per hour, with eligibility for annual performance bonus. Full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, vacation and paid time

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, WA, and WA).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and confirm orders using lab systems.
• Navigate computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information; collect payments as required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read, understand, and comply with policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs timely.
• Complete training courses timely.

Phlebotomist I – Bellingham, WA, Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 4:30, with rotational weekends.

Requirements: State phlebotomy license (Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV). Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required. Position requires ability to communicate in English.

Pay

Pay range: $21.80 - $24.00 / hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information; collect payments when required following corporate policies.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform all non‑patient facing duties: inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email as appropriate.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs timely (e.g., maintenance logs, temperature logs).
• Complete online and in‑person training courses timely.

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
