Title: Phlebotomist I

Description:

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, either as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.

The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.

The PSR I has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.

Under the supervision of the area supervisor, performs daily activities accurately and timely.

Maintains a safe and professional environment.

Performs forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, following established practices and procedures.

Maintains required records and documentation.

Promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public, demonstrating organizational commitment.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
• Flexibility and availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months experience required; one or more years preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.
