Job Title: Phlebotomist I

Location: New London, CT 06249
Shift: Weekdays, 5:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Description:
- The Phlebotomist I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Provides excellent patient care by creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures clearly, and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Performs daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintains a safe and professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, adhering to established protocols.
- Maintains required records and documentation diligently.
- Promotes a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience; 1+ years preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
