Job Summary

Phlebotomist II, under the direction of the area supervisor, performs daily phlebotomy activities at the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP) accurately and on time. The role involves working at two or more locations, interacting professionally with clients, patients, and PathGroup personnel, and performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established protocols.

Essential Functions

• Greet customers courteously and manage needs across multiple locations.
• Ensure timely and accurate collection of all specimens.
• Explain procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety.
• Properly dispose of biohazard materials and contaminated sharps.
• Complete requisitions accurately and enter data into the computer system.
• Research test/client information and match requisitions with specimens.
• Package and store specimens properly for transport, maintaining sample integrity.
• Maintain records, logs, and documentation as required.
• Follow all regulatory and company policies, including safety and confidentiality standards.
• Assist with clerical duties, inventory, and data compilation.
• Adhere to dress code and demonstrate professional behavior and communication.
• Ensure the facility is neat and report maintenance issues.
• Utilize PPE and follow safety protocols diligently.
• Perform responsibilities independently and communicate issues promptly.
• Contribute positively to the team and work environment.
