Job summary

1100 Endeavor Health Clinical Operations is hiring for the position of Phlebotomist I in Chicago. Responsibilities include performing phlebotomy procedures, ordering tests, and collecting patient specimens following proper requirements.

Qualifications

  • Order tests into laboratory and hospital computer systems.
  • Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $18.84 - $27.32. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights
  • Position: Phlebotomist I
  • Location: Swedish Hospital, Chicago; Patient Service Centers for Cook County and Lake County sites
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time and Part Time status
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, day shifts with varied start times & 2nd shift; E/O weekend and rotating holidays
  • Required Travel: Yes for the Patient Service Center positions
Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of routine and special phlebotomy procedures as authorized by supervisor, manager, or director.
  • Responsible for ordering tests into laboratory and hospital computer systems and documenting lab receipt of specimens.
  • Collect patient specimens in accordance with test requirements and in a manner appropriate for the age and/or specific patient population served.
  • Collect blood samples for specific tests ensuring volume is adequate and correct tubes are utilized.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification: CPR-BLS certification for healthcare provider (AHA) required; PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
  • Experience: Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred.
  • Unique/Preferred Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills, reliable transportation to travel between sites, strong customer service skills.
