Pay for this position is $17.60/hour. This is an hourly position.

• 1.75 2nd shift differential

Overview

Position Summary: The Phlebotomist I collects blood and other specimens according to established policies and procedures from any location where patients are present for laboratory testing. Responsibilities include obtaining supplies, verifying patient identification, preparing skin sites, performing venipuncture and skin punctures using aseptic techniques, labeling specimens, and transporting them to the laboratory. The role requires working independently and as part of a team, performing clerical and computer duties related to the laboratory, and maintaining professional relationships with patients, staff, and physicians. Duties may vary by area and shift.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School/GED
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR Certification through the American Heart Association
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT)

Experience:

• 6 months in a team-oriented environment or customer service role
• Completion of a formal structured phlebotomy program OR 3 months full-time phlebotomy experience or equivalent
• Experience with electronic medical records systems like Epic

Other requirements include maintaining a positive, professional attitude and demeanor, and the ability to perform under pressure with frequent interruptions.
