Job summary

Franklin County Medical Center in southeast Idaho is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect and process blood samples in a fast-paced Laboratory. The position is temporary with a transition to PRN after three months, working 24 hours per week across two 12-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy across ages, specimen labeling and routing, data entry, and basic clerical tasks under the Laboratory Manager’s supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training certification or six months of phlebotomy experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, basic physiology, lab equipment care, and aseptic procedures.
• Basic typing and computer skills; ability to keep accurate records and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
• Instruct patients on sample collection and routing.
• Label, centrifuge, separate, store and package specimens appropriately.
• Enter patient demographics and orders into the lab system and retrieve results.
• Perform basic analytic procedures under supervision.
• Handle clerical duties such as calls, copies, filing, and requisitions.
