Phlebotomist - FT at Lifepoint Health®
Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that has served rural and suburban populations in Roaring Spring, Altoona, and parts of Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties for 121 years. With a state‑of‑the‑art cardiac catheterization lab, Conemaugh Nason offers a range of inpatient and outpatient cardiac services close to home. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care as an accredited chest pain center and offers comprehensive outpatient, imaging, diagnostic, and specialty services. Performs venipuncture and specimen collection/processing; completes chain‑of‑custody collections and breath alcohol testing as required; supports order entry and related clerical workflows; answers laboratory phones and provides customer service; assists with inventory of phlebotomy supplies. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure: Occupational exposure may be present for all employees in this role.
Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional kneeling, squatting, pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.; rare climbing/running and higher weight pushes/pulls or lifts. Vision near/far and depth perception are frequent/constant, color distinction frequent.
Environmental Exposures: Frequent contact with blood/bodily fluids; occasional exposure to biohazardous waste, communicable diseases/pathogens, dust, gases/vapors/fumes, hazardous chemicals/medications; latex exposure occasional.
