Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist I Floater

Location: Woodbury, New Jersey, United States, 08096

Duration: 3 months

Shift Timings: Monday - Friday 6:30-4:30pm (8hr shift), Floater and Saturday rotation

Responsibilities:
  1. The Phlebotomist I Floater represents the face of our company, engaging with patients during their health routines and providing insights into health decisions.
  2. Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
  3. Builds trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
  4. Provides coverage at multiple locations for various roles, ensuring daily activities are completed accurately and on time.
  5. Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  6. May be assigned to work in doctor’s offices, patient service centers, mobile or long-term care environments, or as needed based on business requirements.
  7. Capable of stepping in for higher-level roles and leading on-site staff, including coaching and mentoring new employees.
  8. Acts as a point of contact for staff and provides feedback to supervisors.
  9. Works with high-complexity or high-volume practices, requiring excellent phlebotomy and customer service skills.
  10. Handles multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service settings preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience.
