Job Title: Phlebotomist Floater - 1st Shift
Location: Wyomissing, PA
Duration: 3 months Contract
Work Type: Onsite
Shift/Time Zone: 6 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, every other Saturday 7 AM to 12 PM
Job Description:
- The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health checks or for critical health decisions.
- Draws quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- Creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures clearly and drawing blood in a safe, skillful, and accurate manner.
- Provides coverage at multiple locations and roles, ensuring daily activities are completed accurately and on time.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- May be assigned to work in various settings, including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, mobile units, long-term care, or as needed.
- Capable of stepping in for senior phlebotomists, leading onsite staff, and mentoring new employees.
- Acts as a point of contact for staff and provides input to supervisors.
- Works with high-complexity or high-volume practices, requiring advanced phlebotomy and customer service skills.
- Handles multiple priorities in a high-volume environment, collaborating across departments such as Sales, Laboratory, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors is preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry skills.
