Job description

As a Float Phlebotomist, you will have the opportunity to gain extensive experience working with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations. Pay Range: $15.22 - $24.50 per hour

All job offers are based on skills, relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, and internal and market considerations.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, hours vary between 6:00 am - 8:00 pm, with some Saturdays from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Float Incentive: Additional $2.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement.

Work Locations: Gurnee, Waukegan, Grayslake, Round Lake Beach, Lake Forest, Deerfield, North Chicago, and Zion, IL.

Benefits: Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO or FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Job Responsibilities:

  1. Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  2. Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
  3. Enter patient data accurately and promptly.
  4. Process billing information and collect payments as needed.
  5. Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
  6. Maintain logs of patient and specimen information.
  7. Provide excellent customer service to all patients.
  8. Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
  9. Travel to additional sites as required.

Job Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Phlebotomy certification or completed training from an accredited agency, or prior experience as a phlebotomist.
  3. At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience with patients of all ages.
  4. Valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
  5. Must be at least 21 years old.
  6. Proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
  7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  9. Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  10. Reliable transportation and a clean driving record, if applicable.
  11. Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  12. Ability to pass a color blindness test.
