PRN float phlebotomist for IU Health North (Carmel), West (Avon), and Saxony (Fishers). The hours are flexible, approximately 5:45 am - 2:00 pm, based on schedule needs.

The Phlebotomist provides general laboratory services, including specimen collection via routine venipuncture, order entry, blood component preparation, pre-analytical processing of specimens, and related clerical tasks such as entering orders, answering calls, and managing faxes. Responsibilities may also include patient and specimen registration and specimen delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and demonstrate high compassion.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy training program; laboratory experience or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred.
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and a clean driving record over the past three years may be required.
  • Understanding of traffic laws in Indiana may be necessary.
  • Proven computer skills required.
  • Excellent telephone skills needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Participation in relevant committees or projects that support department goals may be expected; details to be provided by Consultants.
