Job description

LabCorp is a leader in diagnostics, drug development and healthcare innovation. We are hiring a Phlebotomist – Float – Per Diem in Louisville, Kentucky.

Work Schedule: This is a casual/per diem position. Hours will vary as needed from Monday–Friday 5:00 am–7:00 pm and weekends. The role will cover locations in the Louisville metropolitan area.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as neededAble to pass a standardized color‑blindness test
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Minimum age of 21 years

Benefits

Float Incentive: Additional $2.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.

Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees scheduled less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible for the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
