Job summary

Labcorp in Troy, Michigan seeks a Phlebotomist - Float to join our patient-centered team. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:30pm with every other Saturday 7:00am–12:30pm; covers Detroit, Grosse Pointe and St. Clair Shores.

Responsibilities include venipuncture and capillary collections for all ages, specimen processing, data entry, and delivering courteous service. Minimum HS diploma or GED; 1+ year phlebotomy experience required; color-blindness test and valid driver’s license needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Demonstrated strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis; maintain logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients; travel to additional sites when needed.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist - Float to join our team based out of Troy, Michigan Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 7:00am-5:30pm and every other Saturday 7:00am - 12:30pm; this position will cover the cities of Detroit, Grosse Pointe and St. Clair Shores

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Float Incentive: Additional $2.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
