Job summary

Labcorp in Detroit, MI is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform blood draws across multiple sites and assist with specimen processing while ensuring accurate data entry and excellent patient service.

The role covers Detroit, Grosse Pointe, and St. Clair Shores with varying early-to-late schedule, and opportunities for growth within Labcorp’s extensive network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Detroit, Michigan

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 7:00am-5:30pm and every other Saturday 7:00am - 12:30pm; this position will cover the cities of Detroit, Grosse Pointe and St. Clair Shores

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Float Incentive

Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
