Job summary

LabCorp in Macomb Township, Michigan is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team. The role covers Macomb County and surrounding Detroit area with a schedule that may span early mornings and overtime.

The candidate will perform venipuncture and capillary collections for diverse age groups, enter data accurately, and travel to various sites as needed while delivering excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training preferred in lieu of experience.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist - Float to join our team in Macomb Township, Michigan. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 7:00am-7:00pm and rotating Saturdays; this position will cover Macomb County in the Detroit area.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent 1 year of more of phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab environment

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
