Job summary

Lakewood Health System is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to join our rural laboratory team in central Minnesota. You will perform phlebotomy, process specimens, and support QA/QC activities while delivering compassionate patient care in a community-focused setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with preferred phlebotomy certification and strong communication skills to engage with providers, coworkers, and patients using the AIDET model.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Phlebotomy certificate preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills when interacting with providers, coworkers, and patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen processing for patients of all ages, with attention to quality and safety.
• Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control monitoring to ensure accurate results.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of procedures, products and equipment used in laboratory medicine.
• Uses the AIDET model to communicate calmly and courteously with patients and families.
