Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role spanning Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, and Guilderland. The position includes potential for permanent hire and a 3-month duration with possible extension.

The phlebotomist will perform blood draws, label specimens, and ensure proper handling and documentation while complying with OSHA/DEP regulations. Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification may be required by the state where employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process in a clear but courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles; align orders with lab requisitions.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Check test requisitions for accuracy; prepare specimens for transport.
