Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY is seeking a Phlebotomist for a PRN, mid-shift role (11a-9p or 7p-3a). You will collect and process blood specimens, label and deliver them for testing, and help coordinate blood drives. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure are essential.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, nationally accredited phlebotomy training, and BLS within 30 days of hire. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Position Summary:

A Phlebotomist collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred;
• An approved nationally accredited training course in Phlebotomy Preferred
• Certification from ASCP or NHA Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 30 days of hire
• Experience Formal Phlebotomy training Preferred
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
