Job summary

COPC Brand in Reynoldsburg, OH is seeking a Phlebotomist to order and transmit lab orders, draw blood, and process specimens in a patient-friendly setting.

This full-time, benefit-eligible role runs Monday–Friday, 9:30am–6:00pm. Requires HS diploma or GED, strong phlebotomy and customer service skills, with prior lab/clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ordering/transmitting lab orders in computer system.
• Assist patient before, during, and after phlebotomy to ensure comfort and professionalism.

• Correct any diagnosis errors that flag in system.
• Perform blood draws and label specimens with patient name and DOB.
• Process blood and urine specimens.
• Stock and maintain a clean work area; dispose biohazards properly.
• Attend required meetings and participate as requested.
• All other assigned duties.

The Phlebotomist orders and transmits lab orders in the computer system. Responsibilities include processing blood, urine, stool specimens according to Laboratory procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ordering/Transmitting lab orders in computer system.
• Assists in care of patient prior to, during, and after phlebotomy. Communicates with patients of all ages in a manner which promotes a comfortable and professional atmosphere.
• Before performing blood draws verify patient name and date of birth.
• Correct any diagnosis errors that flag in system.
• Perform blood draws. Place patient name and date of birth on tube(s) in front of patient. Has knowledge of all routine containers and minimum volumes required for collection.
• Processing of blood and urine specimens.
• Stocks inventory and maintains a clean work area. Disposes biohazard material in the correct container.
• Attends required meetings and participates as requested.
• All other assigned duties.

Requirements:

• HS diploma or GED
• Strong phlebotomy and customer service skills
• Previous experience in lab or clinical setting preferred
