Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team in St. Augustine, FL.

You will perform blood collection from donors, run automated instruments after training, and accurately register and determine donor eligibility while delivering exceptional service. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, willingness to work varied hours including nights and weekends, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willing to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and LifeSouth eligibility requirements.
• Proficient with computer software applications.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• CDL holders preferred; additional compensation available.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomies and collect blood from donors per SOP.
• Collect blood using automated instruments after training.
• Register donors in IBBIS system.
• Determine donor eligibility through interviews and physical exam.
• Identify donors accurately throughout the process.
• Assist in recruitment and rescheduling of donors.
• Promote automated technology (apheresis) when appropriate.
• Provide high level customer service to internal and external customers.
