Job summary

Sanford Health in Iron Mountain, MI is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to collect blood and other samples from patients. You will explain procedures, ensure safety, and accurately record information in a professional setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
• May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner.
• Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process.
• Records and documents patient/resident information accurately.
• Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures.
• Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.
