Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Louisville, KY seeks a contract Phlebotomist to support blood collection, labeling, and specimen handling in a fast-paced lab environment. The role covers venipuncture, specimen labeling, transport, and quality assurance under physician orders.

Responsibilities include training, troubleshooting, and workflow improvements, with OSHA/DEP compliance and annual trainings. Schedule is typically 8:00am–5:00pm Monday–Friday for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate techniques with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to tubes; label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions to ensure accuracy; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens per required temperatures; follow transport protocols to maintain specimen integrity.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
