Job summary

Htprof is seeking a phlebotomist to assist in performing duties, troubleshooting, training, and workflow improvements within a contract role in Kentucky. The position includes collecting blood samples, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation and transport according to protocol.

The role requires phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
At least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
Understand all physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens per test order.
Check test requisitions for accuracy, package specimens for transport.
Store specimens at required temperatures and maintain specimen integrity.
Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
Answer calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
