Accounting Search seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in the Austin, TX area, with potential for permanent placement. The role involves blood draws, specimen handling, and adherence to lab procedures across float locations in the Austin area.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, labeling, data entry in Microsoft Office, and ensuring specimen integrity. Valid phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of experience required; travel between sites is expected with mileage reimbursed.

Formación

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• minimum 1 year of experience

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understands physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Store specimens according to required temperature and protocol; follow OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
