Job summary

Htprof is seeking a phlebotomist to assist in performing assigned duties, troubleshoot, train and improve workflow. The role includes blood draws, specimen labeling and proper transport under OSHA/DEP guidelines, with a 3-month contract and potential for permanent hire.

Responsibilities include collecting and storing specimens, explaining venipuncture procedures, and ensuring accurate labeling and test requisitions, while complying with regulatory standards and attending trainings.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
