Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Phlebotomist in Glens Falls, NY for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, with alternating Saturdays 7am–12pm. Estimated duration is 3 months with possible extension to permanent hire.

Requires phlebotomy certification and 6+ months of venipuncture experience. Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, data recording, and proper specimen handling per protocol.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper temperature/storage.
• Attend annual department trainings and adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.
