Job summary

Red Seal Recruiting Ltd. in Owasso, OK seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent employment. The position requires performing blood draws, specimen labeling, and proper handling according to protocol.

You will work Mon-Fri 7:00 am to 3:30 pm in a fast-paced lab setting, ensuring accuracy, maintaining OSHA compliance, and participating in trainings. Experience with venipuncture and MS Office is preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification required in some states.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians' orders and document accordingly.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
• Label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results as needed
