Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge and record maintenance data
• Collect and store specimens per procedures and maintain patient information
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles
• Follow physician orders and verify lab requisitions against scripts
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity per OSHA/DEP regs
• Attend department trainings and respond to inquiries about results
