Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Phlebotomist in West Palm Beach, FL to safely collect blood and other specimens for laboratory testing. You will ensure proper labeling, documentation, and transport while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with patients in a healthcare environment. Prior phlebotomy experience and current certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or equivalent.
• Current phlebotomy certification or licensure as required by state regulations.
• Experience performing venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely and efficiently.
• Collect blood and other specimens as ordered and within scope of training.
• Verify patient identity and orders prior to collection.
• Explain procedures to patients in a professional, reassuring manner.
• Label, document, process, store, and transport specimens per procedures.
• Maintain timely documentation of collections and patient information.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention requirements.
• Maintain a clean, stocked phlebotomy area and handle waste properly.
• Notify supervisor when supplies need reordering.
• Respond to patient reactions and communicate with the care team.
