$18.00 - $20.00 per hour, plus mileage reimbursement
Job Overview
Trilab Health is seeking a flexible and skilled Phlebotomist to work in a healthcare facility in Chicago, IL. This role involves performing blood draws and other lab-related procedures, ensuring accurate specimen collection and handling. The candidate will provide high-quality patient care and adhere to safety protocols.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws and other laboratory procedures professionally and courteously.
- Verify patient identities and ensure accurate record‐keeping.
- Educate patients on specimen collection, handling, and storage.
- Accurately label and prepare specimens for transport, ensuring integrity.
- Communicate effectively with lab staff, management, and healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with OSHA, HIPAA regulations, and laboratory policies.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain phlebotomy and lab procedure skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a phlebotomy program or certification as a phlebotomist (preferred).
- At least one year of experience in phlebotomy within a clinical setting.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Knowledgeable in safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Manual dexterity needed for blood draws and lab procedures.
- Visual acuity to read labels, forms, and documents.
- Capability to work in environments with potential exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
Experience
- Phlebotomy: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred)
