Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist in Rockville, MD. The role requires standing exposure to blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to lab protocols.

The ideal candidate holds a valid phlebotomy certification for the state and has at least 5 years of venipuncture experience in fast-paced environments. Benefits are available and schedule is M-F 8am - 4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 5 years performing venipunctures in fast-paced lab or hospital settings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and maintain data.
• Collect and store specimens according to procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Verify physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package and store specimens per transport requirements and protocol.
• Comply with OSHA/DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and review laboratory results as needed.
