Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3–4 month assignment in Gahanna, OH. Typical hours are 8:30am–5:00pm (Mon/Wed/Fri) and 8:30am–8:00pm on Thursdays, with a projected duration of 3 to 4 months.

The role requires at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation and proper handling. You will explain venipuncture procedures to patients and ensure accurate processing and documentation of samples.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
• Experience with blood draws and specimen labeling.
• Ability to explain venipuncture procedures clearly to patients.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples.
• Minimum of 1 year experience
